Polaris' Birth
As of now, no one really knows when polaris was born. It was found in 1780 by William Herschel. Is is a relatively large star, about six times the size of our Sun.When a star is born, it first becomes a protostar. This is like a baby star and is low mass and small size. A protostar is formed by nuclear fusion. As I stated before, no one knows when Polaris was born, but since it is an older main sequence star I estimate that it is about 89 to 98 billion years old.
This is a picture of the nuclear fusion that formed Polaris
Nuclear FusionNuclear Fusion occurs when 2 protons crash into each at high speed. This causes nuclear fusion and creates another proton. This happens multiple times and causes a large release of energy.

ProtostarA protostar is like a baby star. It is a very small star. This is what a star looks like directly after nuclear fusion.
